The Early Childhood Assistant Teacher will assist the Lead Teacher with all aspects of caring for students, ages 2.5 - 6 years, while providing a safe, nurturing, and orderly environment which meets the needs of the children in their care. The EC Assistant Teacher should be friendly, open, well-spoken, warm, and have an interest in Waldorf Early Childhood education. In order to create a harmonious environment, flexibility, presence, and a cooperative spirit are essential for the children to receive the teacher and assistant as a guiding unit. Through rich, immersive experiences, you instill in them a deep sense of wonder, and reverence, and work to develop a sense of stewardship towards the environment.

In addition to enriching the educational experience of the WSB school community, this position serves as a catalyst for advancing eco-literacy and sustainability practices. You will lead the development, integration, and advocacy of environmental education initiatives within the curriculum and throughout the school's operations, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and ecological awareness. This job is year-long with some over-the-summer stewardship requirements.
