Parents Association
Founded in 1983, The Parents Association provides vital support to the school, the faculty, and our active community of involved parents. All parents of enrolled students are automatically members; there are no dues. PA meetings are held quarterly and are listed on the school web calendar, in the Waldorf Weekly, and on the PA resource page (linked in the Parent Portal). Every parent is warmly invited, and strongly encouraged, to attend.
- Enhance Parent Connection
- Enhance Parent Participation
- Support the school’s initiative to strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion in our community
Parents Association Goals
WSB relies on strong parent involvement to sustain itself - and time and time again, our gracious and giving community answers the call. Every class at the Waldorf School of Baltimore, Children's Garden through Grade Eight, has a Class Parent (or two) who volunteers to represent their class at Parents Association meetings. Class Parents will also volunteer their time to support the class teacher in various ways, connect class families by facilitating communications and social gatherings, and assisting with school events and PA functions. PA meetings benefit most by having a large representation so attendance is important for all parents. PA Chairs are responsible for distributing general announcements to parents in their division.
Waldorf School leadership attends all Parents Association meetings, which are held quarterly. PA meetings are a place to connect with your school community and a time to ensure your voice is heard. Each meeting includes time to hear from our Executive Director, and to share important issues, upcoming fundraisers, festivals, and events. Meetings may also include parent education, community relations, or any other aspect pertaining to the shared community experience of our school.
Collectively, we all share the responsibility of making our school the best place for our children, and demonstrating to our children the importance of community involvement.
