After graduating from The Waldorf School of Baltimore in 2000, Mikko embarked on a musical journey, specializing in oboe at the Baltimore School of the Arts during high school. He further honed his skills, earning a BA in Music Recording Arts from UMBC.

From 2016 to 2021, Mikko dedicated himself to teaching music to high-risk youth at the Woodbourne School. In 2021, he joined The Waldorf School of Baltimore's Middle School faculty, leading various classes and guiding students through graduation. Mikko's commitment extends beyond the classroom as he coaches soccer and basketball, teaches Games and PE classes, and pursues training in Spatial Dynamics.

In addition to his teaching endeavors, Mikko has a background in home improvement, showcasing his carpentry and finishing skills. During his free time, he indulges in outdoor activities, sports, and playing the guitar. Mikko is not just an educator; he is a multifaceted individual whose diverse experiences enrich the educational landscape for our students.
