American Education Week 2015: Thank You to Donald Bufano

American Education Week.

In honor of American Education Week (November 16-20, 2015), the Waldorf School of Baltimore would like recognize and celebrate Donald Bufano, 8th grade Class Teacher, for ensuring that our students have a transformative educational experience. Mr. Bufano has been a key figure in the global Waldorf community for over 40 years, with the last 10 working at WSB in various key positions. He is well loved and respected by students, parents, faculty and staff alike.

Donald Bufano earned a B.A. in Speech-Communications at the University of Maryland, College Park and a Waldorf Certificate at Mercy College, Detroit. He worked for twenty-four years at the Washington Waldorf School as a class teacher, Development Director, Collegium Chair and high school history teacher, class sponsor and student advisor. Donald served as Chairman of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA.) After a sabbatical in Italy, he took an eighth grade at the Waldorf School of Baltimore. He continued there as Collegium Chair, then Upper School Chair and humanities teacher. After a year with an eighth grade at the Waldorf School of Garden City, New York, he returned to Baltimore as a class teacher. Donald has served on the boards of the Washington Waldorf School, the Rudolf Steiner Institute, the Waldorf Schools Fund, and the Foundation for Human Movement Studies.
