Larry was born and raised in Baltimore. He graduated from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institution and received degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Johns Hopkins University. He worked in manufacturing for 33 years and managed work on such projects as the Fort McHenry Tunnel, the Monitor and Merrimac Tunnel in Newport News, VA, and many other projects. He and his wife, Charlotte, have been associated with the Waldorf School since 1990 when their son Alexander began in the Children’s Garden Nursery. Larry served as Secretary to the Board and President of the Board in the 1990s and was employed by the school as the Administrative Chair from 2003-2013. He is currently Chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee. He and Charlotte are both retired and are currently weekday caregivers for their granddaughter, Molly.
