I am a grandmother of a Waldorf kindergartner. This is the fourth year of our involvement with Waldorf School of Baltimore. We started out in the parent child program. Livie’s favorite activity was washing the dishes!
I have always been interested in education, including Waldorf education. I trained as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist while my own two daughters were very young. As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, I have worked mostly in university medical centers educating young physicians. I have directed two university divisions of child psychiatry. My last fulltime clinical position was as medical director of inpatient services, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Bloomberg Children’s Center here in Baltimore. Over the years I have worked closely with educators, school counselors, and school systems, public and private. Now my work is remote from home. I work in a Medicaid Managed Care Program in Arkansas.
I have two wonderful daughters who each have an almost 6 yo child. One daughter lives in Arkansas so we do not see her as much as we would like. I enjoy traveling. My new intense interest is a book I am working on about a hall of fame race horse!
I am looking forward to this opportunity to be part of the school. I am hoping to “give back” some of what I have learned over the past 33 years working with children and families.
