Colleen Vernon's lifelong love for singing and dancing, evident from her introduction to her kindergarten teacher, has blossomed into an impressive career in music and movement. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Ithaca College and a Master’s degree in Music Education with a focus on Orff Schulwerk from West Chester University, Colleen's expertise spans various realms.
Colleen has shared her passion by instructing Music Together, elementary general music, middle school creative movement, and even swing dance for midshipmen at the US Naval Academy. She has also led swing dance classes for adults through Baltimore’s Mobtown Ballroom, conducted workshops for music educators, and facilitated therapeutic music classes for seniors. Her students range from the tender age of 0 to the seasoned wisdom of 103.
Colleen's dance expertise extends globally, encompassing various forms from different countries and time periods. A three-time Electric Slide competition winner, she even achieved viral fame on YouTube for her Spiderman swing dance routine.
Beyond her rhythmic pursuits, Colleen finds joy in obstacle course racing, reading, and cherishing moments with her family. Colleen Vernon is not just an instructor; she is a vibrant force in the world of music and dance, bringing joy and creativity to students of all ages.
