Edna Emmet will sponsor a spring after-school robotics program. This session, we will be partnering with two Friends School high school students. Nathan LaClair, a sophomore and Waldorf Alum, and Jimena Gualar-Blasco, a junior, are experienced Robotics team members.
Introduction to Robotics Afterschool Program open to Grades 6-7
Start Date: Monday, April 15 (program will run for 9 sessions, on Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30-5:00 PM except for Monday 22 when school is closed. The last day will be May 15.
Cost: $75
The aim of the program is to introduce the students to robotics and be inspired by high school students who participate on a robotics’ team. The students will be exposed to basic elements of mechanics, electronics, physics and programming. Most of the materials used will be based on the VEX robotics curriculum (http://www.roboticseducation.org/vex-robotics-competitionvrc/) thus providing the students a possibility to participate, in high school, in the annual VEX Robotics competition. The students are expected to be self-motivated, enjoy problem solving (there will be plenty) and committed to team work.
Space is limited for this program and students will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, so please enroll right away if interested. If your child is also enrolled in afterschool sports, there will be a reduced fee. Please email Cecilia Liss for details. cliss@twsb.org.
