Book Club with Noris-10am

Book Club with Noris-10am

Date / Time:
Repeats every week every Tuesday 9 times .
Tuesday, March 29, 2022 - 10:00am - 11:00am

Join the Waldorf School of Baltimore book Club Tuesday's this spring! This Spring Book Club,  hosted by Noris Friedman, will be offered at two different times to accommodate many people’s different scheduling and needs. We begin on Tuesday, March 29 and continue through Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Both sessions on Tuesdays will be covering the same material.  The first session will be held in the morning from 10 to 11 a.m. and the second in the evening time from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m.

Noris will continue with the two options as long as there are at least five people who regularly attend. A group is needed in order to have good conversations together. Each week in the Waldorf Weekly, there will be an announcement of what chapter is being discussed.

We will be reading: The Essential Guide to a Nature-Rich Life, Vitamin N – 500 Ways to Enrich the Health & Happiness of Your Family & Community and Combat Nature-Deficit Disorder - by Richard Louv. Louv has also written Last Child in the Woods, Saving our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder and The Nature Principle, Reconnecting with Life in a Virtual Age - and YES - the same Richard Louv whom we will be welcoming virtually for Earth Week!
Vitamin N is a delightful read, which is perfect for spring. It gives information on many different topics and best of all, it is a resource for trying out a vast number of ideas, projects, explorations, walks, etc. Louv gives ideas and suggestions for all age levels. He fits right in with the philosophy of WSB and shares many of the ideas which Kim John Payne talks about in his books.  Book club is. All are welcome.

Each week there is an assigned chapter to read and then we talk about what we’ve read – ideas, questions, conversation, etc. Since there are usually two senses talked about in each chapter, we will spend two weeks on each chapter. Even if you don’t have time to read, please join in as we always learn together. This is the beginning of the spring season! New life is springing up in nature and how wonderful to take up new learning and exploring." — Noris Friedman.
