School Event

Festival of Courage & Picnic-1-5pm

Festival of Courage: Throughout the school year, WSB incorporates a number of seasonal events, such as the Festival of Courage, designed to reach students in mind, body, and spirit. The foundations of this Festival celebrate human courage as the days begin to darken and our attention turns towards fortifying our courage for winter.

Caregivers encouraged to attend. Please arrive by 12:55pm in advance of the 1pm Procession of the Grades onto the Fields. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for comfort. 

Community Hour: Winter Garden-4pm

Community members are heartily invited to attend the Winter Garden. please arrive before 4pm and ring the bell. Take your shoes off outside the ER and enter quietly and take a seat. Enjoy!

Winter Garden

All classes attend the Winter Garden. Parents are usually invited to join their child in the Children's Garden classes. Details will come from your Class teacher.

Autumn Festival-CG

Class times tbd. Open to parents and younger siblings:

This year’s Autumn Festival will be celebrated the morning of Wednesday, October 11th.

Back to School Parent Night-6pm

 Back to School Night: 6:00 to 8:00pm All parents, even seasoned ones, are highly encouraged to attend.

  • Gather together as we enjoy refreshments with teachers and parents and hear from Brenda Wolf Smith, Executive Director, and Sharon Polchies, our new Academic Director
  • Hear about important program news and upcoming events.
  • Receive main lesson block and weekly schedules  (Elementary school)
  • Hear from your Parents Association Class Parents as we gear up for the year

Children's Garden: Family Work Day-3pm

Children’s Garden Families gather in their outdoor and indoor classrooms where children have the opportunity to meet and interact with their teacher and new classmates before the school year begins. Parent(s)/Guardians(s) participate with joy in purposeful work to model community and prepare the classrooms for the upcoming year: oiling bowls, applying a fresh layer of beeswax to wooden toys, tending the garden, etc.

MS retreat

Middle School students go with their class teachers for a retreat at the beginning of the school year to form them socially as a group. 

G1-7 Classroom visits-4:00pm

You are warmly invited to our PA Welcome Picnic to welcome all current families, new and returning.
4:00- 4:30pm Grades 1-8 Classroom Welcome: Students can visit their classroom, get fitted for their desk and chair, and drop off cubby or locker items.
4:30 - 6:00pm Picnic for All School (Nursery through G8):

Bring chairs or a blanket for comfort.

All Parent Orientation: ZOOM 6:00-7:30pm

Please plan on at least one parent from each family attending as we walk parents through practicalities of life at school. Please make every effort to attend as some things have changed from previous years.
